Association XY, a non-governmental organization from Bosnia and Herzegovina,

is seeking for a qualified candidates for the


of the Mental Health Project in Bosnia and Herzegovina, funded by the Swiss Government. The project intervenes in three different areas: (i) Improving effectiveness of management of the community-based mental health services; (ii) Increasing quality and scope of mental health care services and access to those services by the population in the community, and (iii) Decreasing discrimination against persons with mental health disorders in the communities. The project operates from the Association XY’s offices based in Sarajevo and Banja Luka.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

The role of the Project Director is to manage, plan, and facilitate the implementation of project activities in accordance with the project documents. The Project Director leads and coordinates the work of the project staff, allocates duties and tasks among team members, and manages the project resources. Project Director works in the team and closely collaborates with the Director of Association XY in order to ensure an effective and efficient realization of all project interventions.

He/she is responsible for ensuring the coherence of different project activities, project’s result orientation and for assuring the quality of results. He/she is accountable for his/her performance to the Director of Association XY.

Starting date for the position is preferably March 1, 2016 or upon availability. Position is based in Sarajevo.

Required Skills and Experience

-  Master degree in health management, management or social sciences field with at least three years of proven experience in project management, or BA degree with at least five years of proven experience in project management

-  Excellent leadership, communication, presentation and organizational skills

-  Strong decision making, conflict management and negotiation skills

-  Profound knowledge and experience in Project Cycle Management and application of its tools

-  Experience in writing project documentation and reports

- Experience in working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

-  Experience in collaboration with government officials and stakeholders

-  Knowledge of health systems structure and health reform priorities in BiH; familiarity with mental health care reform as advantage

-  Readiness to travel in the country/abroad to meet stakeholders and project partners

-  BiH citizenship

-  Excellent spoken and written English and B-H-S skills

-  Profound computer skills

-  Driving license preferred, with a clear driving record
